Walking Meditation: Rice Terrace Mornings
Not all practice happens on a mat. Ubud's rice terraces at seven in the morning are one of the island's great walking meditations — soft light, moving water, and a path that asks you to slow down.
What should you wear for a rice terrace walk?
Loose, ankle-length pants in breathable fabric — paths are narrow and morning grass is wet, so quick-drying natural fiber beats anything heavy. A light long-sleeve layer for the first cool hour, sandals you can slip off, light colors for the heat that arrives by nine.
Best terraces near Ubud?
Tegallalang is the famous one — go before eight to have it quiet. Campuhan Ridge is the gentler, closer walk; Jatiluwih, an hour away, is the vast one worth a morning.
The walking-meditation wardrobe lives in the Flow collection.
