The Weave on the Wall: Where Our Textures Come From

The Weave on the Wall: Where Our Textures Come From

Every SNUG texture starts as a natural fiber and stays one: GOTS-certified organic cotton, worked in small batches, handmade in Bali. This is what those three phrases actually mean when you hold the fabric.

What does GOTS-certified organic mean?

The Global Organic Textile Standard tracks fabric from the cotton field to the finished garment — no toxic dyes, audited working conditions, and a certificate trail behind the label. It is the strictest widely-used organic standard in clothing.

Why small batches?

Because a batch we can count is a batch we can check. Small runs mean every seam gets looked at by a person, nothing sits in a warehouse aging out of style, and we can change course with the seasons instead of pushing overstock.

What does handmade actually change?

Hands notice what machines pass over — a raw edge finished just so, a drawstring knotted to hold. The small irregularities are the signature; identical is what factories make.

Frequently asked questions

Does natural fabric need special care?

Cold-to-warm wash, low spin, hang dry. It softens with every wash and outlasts fast-fashion fabric by years.
